100 KM
AzBT 100KM
The Endurance race starts at Miradouro do Facho, in Praia da Vitória, offering an immediate privileged view over the bay and the vastness of the ocean. The trail leads athletes to the majestic Serra do Cume, an imposing testimony to what was once one of the largest volcanoes in the archipelago. At the top, the scenery unfolds in all its grandeur: the immense crater covered by green fields, cut by basalt walls that together form the iconic “Manta de Retalhos” (Patchwork Quilt) - one of the most striking and recognizable landscapes in the Azores.
From there, the route continues along the Trilho das Relheiras de São Brás, where the marks left on the rock by old carts evoke the connection between history and nature. The route continues towards the Golf Club, winding through the extensive meadows that bear witness to the island's rural character. The climb to Pico do Boi reveals new perspectives on Terceira Island, combining physical challenge with the visual reward of the height achieved.
This is followed by the descent through the cool, dense Agualva Woods, where the greenery closes in on natural tunnels of vegetation, leading athletes to the meeting point with the 65K race.

The Sprint Race and Walk begin at the church in the parish of Posto Santo, a starting point that inspires both experienced runners and occasional adventurers alike.
Although the Sprint Race is shorter, the challenges remain intense, offering participants an experience full of excitement and overcoming obstacles. The Walk, with its shorter route, promises to surprise with its difficulty, taking participants to explore little-traveled trails, where the natural beauty of the island is revealed with every step.
Athletes follow the first climb along Grota do Medo, converging at the same meeting point for all races in Serra do Morião, then descending Canada do Breado to the “gates” of Angra do Heroísmo, Nasce Água.
Once they reach Alto da Memória (or Outeiro da Memória), the colorful Jardim Duque da Terceira lies at the athletes' feet. The entire descent to the center of the World Heritage city takes place within the garden, with its variety of exotic species. The finish line is just ahead!
Crossing the historic streets of the most beautiful city in the Azores, passing by the São João Batista Fortress and entering the Relvão Municipal Park is the culmination of a race full of emotions, smells, images, feats, and courage. It is the end of a race that we want to return to and that we already miss.

65 KM
AzBT 65KM
The Long race starts in the heart of the parish of Agualva, where the energy of the athletes blends with the tranquility of the place. The first stage guides runners along a linear trail that embraces the history of the region, passing by the old mills on the riverbank, which whisper memories of times gone by.
Upon entering the dense and mysterious Agualva Woods, nature envelops the athletes, challenging them with a constant climb to the emblematic Terra Brava area. This is the prelude to one of the most memorable moments of the race: the arrival at the majestic Algar do Carvão, one of Terceira Island's greatest natural treasures.
With courage and admiration, athletes face the concrete staircase, descending more than 330 steps to explore the interior of this dormant volcano. At the bottom, the volcanic walls reveal shapes and colors that tell the story of the Earth's bowels. The reflection of light in the crystal clear water at the bottom of Algar seems like an invitation to contemplation, but the clock reminds us that this is a race, and the course calls!
Back on the surface, the next challenge is the enchanting Trilho dos Mistérios Negros (Trail of Black Mysteries). This magical route, with its trachytic domes and landscapes marked by the 1761 eruption, seems to transport athletes to another planet.
It is a fascinating setting, where the contrast between the black rocks and sparse vegetation awakens the spirit of adventure.
Once the Mysteries are behind you, the long descent of about 11 km to the village of Biscoitos begins. Here, the transition from wild nature to organized vineyards is a spectacle in itself. The culture of wine, so deeply rooted in the history of Terceira, accompanies runners to the point where a new challenge begins: the north-south crossing of the island.
